GASOLINE LOLLIPOPS Gasoline Lollipops are an alt-country band from Colorado who’s unique sound combines the sincerity of dirt-floor folk with the energy and rebelliousness of the punk era – – resulting in an all-new incarnation of alt-country that’s both high energy and heartfelt. The Gasoline Lollipops are the soundtrack of the American highway that give fuel and speed to your journey. They’ll keep your eyes open and your foot stompin’ holes through the floorboard! The Gasoline Lollipops have been honored to open for some phenomenal bands including Lucero; Robert Earl Keen; and Dale Watson. They’ve also shared the stage with musicians from String Cheese Incident, Brandie Carlile, and Yonder Mountain just to name a few. 2014 has brought multiple awards and accolades to the Gasoline Lollipops for their music; including being selected to play six showcases in Austin during Music Week SXSW2014; being named “Best Musician/Group” in the Colorado Daily’s “Colorado University and Boulder’s Best 2014″ list; being selected as one of only six bands across Colorado for the highly coveted SpokesBUZZ ‘s Emerging Artists Incubator program; and playing a number of music festivals during the summer months including Denver’s UMS; Higher Ground Music Festival; and headlining both Boulder’s Big Hootenanny (a Conscience Alliance event); and the Empire Americana Festival. The band has recently completed their EP entitled “Death” (which is the 2nd Installment of their “Lucky 7” Trilogy), and will tour during the remainder of 2014 in support of its release. From the swampy nether reaches of the dirty south, to the pristine peaks of the Rocky Mountains, the GasPops are sure to be raging somewhere near you soon. Make sure to catch them live! THE WIDOW'S BANE Shortly after being poisoned to death by his wife, Governor Mortimer Leech was recruited by the Dark Lord himself to join the house band upon his ship, The Widow’s Bane. The crew exclusively consisted of men fallen at the hands of their beloveds, and it was there that Leech was introduced to the rest of the band. There was Rutherford Belleview, an accomplished accordionist hailing from Connecticut, whose wife hung him up to dry with a piano wire. Bartholomew Catacombs, lovingly referred to as “Bat”, had been buried alive. A hundred years later The Devil dug him up, and he was now holding down the low end of the band on board The Widow’s Bane. Franklin McKane, a drunken gambler of the potato famine era, had been shot to death by his blushing bride when she realized his banjo and deck of cards meant more to him than she ever would. And then there was Rictus Corpum, who met the sharp end of a scythe after his wife played him out for another man. The Devil, however, was kind enough to transform Corpum’s bride into a violin so he might exact his revenge by playing her daily for all eternity. The Widow’s Bane sailed unhindered for three hundred years, laying to waste every ship that crossed its path while entertaining every pub in every port town in which it dropped anchor. That is, until they had the great misfortune of crossing paths with St. Gabriel and his ship, The Pale Horse. It was off the coast of Alaska where Gabe laid into The Widow’s Bane with a vengeance. The Devil retreated into an abyss beneath the Bering Sea, while the house band was left to row ashore in a life raft, taking nothing from that sinking ship but her name.
