Bluegrass Tues: Caribou Mountain Collective & The Railsplitters & Chain Station

CARIBOU MOUNTAIN COLLECTIVE The Caribou Mountain Collective formed in the fall of 2012. The original idea of starting a band came about at a pickin' party in Nederland, Colorado. Within weeks the band was already coming to fruition. Miles Perry and Curly Collins had known dobro player, Allen Cooke from playing a lot of music in the Boulder bluegrass scene. They asked Allen to join the band shortly after. Etienne Cremieux moved to the Boulder area in the fall of 2013 and began playing with the group almost immediately. He officially joined the band during the recording of the CMC's first album, "Till the Sun Gives Us A Day." They recorded the album at a studio up in Ward, Colorado over a three day period in January 2014. THE RAILSPLITTERS From their home in the Colorado Rockies, The Railsplitters have been scaling new heights with a refreshing and charming range of bluegrass and beyond-bluegrass music. For a debut album, The Railsplitters sound remarkably assured, playing with the kind of abandon their live shows are known for. Bringing real depth and formidable talent, this group draws influences from all the greats--from Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs to modern groups like Uncle Earl and Crooked Still. The Railsplitters are nothing if not enthusiastically bluegrass and contagiously so, with rapid tempos, unusual instrumentals and good-time breakdowns! Using powerful female and male vocals, enchanting harmonies, and masterful instrumentals, The Railsplitters have the kind of raw power that can raise mountains and even a few eyebrows. CHAIN STATION Chain Station is a 4-piece, high-energy, get ‘em out on the dance floor stringband from the Front Range of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. They’ve become known for catchy and lyrically-poignant original songs which flow from the mountains, through them and right back to you! Pure Mountain Music! Their live shows have become that of legend, with energy and stage antics that guarantee one hell of a night out.
