Technicolor Tone Factory plays Daft Punk!
Friday, July 5 2013
Technicolor Tone Factory, otherwise known to their die-hard fans as “TTF”, is the newest and biggest all-live rock/funk/prague fusion band working their way to the top of the Colorado music scene. Most prominently, TTF features a duo of guitarists with extremely distinctive methods (Brian Boster & Jarrod Guaderrama) who energetically weave contrasting styles of shredding guitar in to a kaleidoscope of rhythm and melody. Guaderrama’s El Paso, TX roots, showcasing glimpses of bluegrass and folk, and Boster’s soulfully improvisational techniques combine forces resulting in a crescendo of super saturated sounds. Any given Technicolor Tone Factory concert has absolutely no shortage of jaw-dropping beats and mind bending bass lines. TTF is the proud home of arguably one the most skilled Drum and Bass teams in the “box state” (Bryan LeFever & Zach Jackson). LeFever’s emotionally heart-filled percussion and rigorous CU Drum Line/Blue Knights training blended with Jackson’s outrageously catchy (and sometimes ridiculously intricate!) low-end bass riffs resonate to the core of every concertgoer’s desire to move. Together, Jackson & LeFever provide the foundation for the funk. TTF’s secret weapon is keyboarder Greg Kallfa. Kallfa’s jazzy, funky and defined work on the keyboard and Hammond organ (sometimes supplemented with a home-made talk box) makes the use of any arpeggiator or Ableton setup virtually obsolete. Kallfa and Jackson’s blend of profound vocal harmonies and metaphorical lyrics over the top of dynamic, bouncing instrumentals literally puts Technicolor Tone Factory in a category of its own. Successfully fusing multiple genres and appealing to a large crossover demographic, this quintet produces one of the biggest new sounds on the Front Range. Since it’s inception in April of 2011, Technicolor Tone Factory has had the pleasure of headlining some of the most legendary venues in Colorado including The Fox Theatre, the Boulder Theater, Bluebird Theater, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, Coors Event Center and has shared the stage with artists such as Perpetual Groove, The Motet, Wyclef Jean and Mountain Standard Time, and hopes to continue working with acclaimed national acts both in Colorado, and on the road. From the swelling anticipation at the beginning of a TTF concert through raging jams and the occasional sneaky cover tune, start-to-finish, Technicolor Tone Factory rips the audience on a ride through time, space and thought. Get ready, TECHNICOLOR TONE FACTORY IS COMING TO A THEATRE NEAR YOU!!
